New services for Kuwaitis launched

KUWAIT CITY, April 11: According to informed sources, the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) adopted a set of new procedures with the aim of “sifting” the files of need assessment and the titles registered on them in the private sector. It began by linking higher titles with the academic qualifications of the employees in various companies and institutions, and defining some titles exclusively for national workers, especially the title of Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director, and Director General, except in some cases that were left to the directors of departments in the six governorates, reports Aljarida daily. The sources said, “The new procedure prevents the granting of the title of “general manager, chief executive officer, executive director” to companies that do not have a need assessment and a hierarchical organizational structure, and a limited number of workers are registered on their file.

One of the conditions for granting these titles to expatriate workers is that the assessment of the need includes more than 50 workers, or is listed on the stock exchange, or is registered with a high capital and has a sufficient number of workers and an organizational structure that holds titles such as general manager and deputy, thus granting a new title of executive director or CEO.

Companies or establishments that have the title of director, chief executive, or general manager, that are considered small enterprises, do not have an organizational and administrative structure, and have a limited number of workers, their names will be renamed by estimating the need when renewing or transferring work permits. It will be replaced by administrative titles such as managing director. In addition, the authority launched four new automated services for national workers, namely: issuance of a certificate detailing support for national labor, issuance of To Whom It May Concern certificates for national labor stating that the person did not receive labor support, and two services for updating worker data and inquiries.
