School Sports Federation’s ‘Handball Family’ festival exceeds expectation

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: The Handball Federation, in collaboration with the School Sports Federation, successfully hosted the third edition of the “Handball Family” children’s festival at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. Fourteen clubs, along with teams from the School Sports Federation, participated in the event, earning praise from attendees, including game managers from various clubs and officials from the “hand and school” federations. The festival surpassed expectations and was deemed a success by all standards, as confirmed by Walid Ayesh, the Vice President of the School Sports Federation.

Ayesh highlighted the positive interaction from the clubs, each fielding around 40 players who joined forces with school union players. Emphasizing inclusivity, Ayesh mentioned that top positions were eliminated, and every participating player received a medal. This approach aimed to foster sportsmanship, instill a healthy perspective on winning and losing, and create a comfortable environment for all participants.

The Vice President of the School Sports Federation emphasized that the festival serves as a platform to identify and nurture talents from an early age, employing advanced scientific methods to develop future generations of handball stars. These emerging talents are expected to form the core of both club and national teams.

Ayesh commended the presence of club handball managers and parents at the festival, acknowledging their significant role in providing moral support to the young players, boosting their motivation during the festival matches.

Meanwhile, the third round of the General Handball League is set to kick off today at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. At five in the evening, Al-Kuwait will face Sulaibikhat, followed by Al-Fahaheel’s clash with Al-Salmiya at seven in the evening. The current team standings are led by Al-Kuwait, Al-Fahaheel, Al-Salmiya, and Kazma, each with 4 points from the previous two rounds, shaping up for an exciting and competitive league season.
