KUWAIT CITY, May 2: Recently concluded in Casablanca, Morocco, the Sixth Arab Championship for Youth Handball Teams witnessed a thrilling competition where the Atlas Lions emerged victorious, while Kuwait's national team secured the runner-up position. Among the standout players were Abdulaziz Al-Najjar and Abdulaziz Daif, both from the Kuwait squad, recognized as part of the tournament's "Best" lineup. Al-Najjar was honored as the best playmaker, while Dhaif was celebrated as the best right back. Other notable mentions in the best lineup included Mohammed bin Hussein from Tunisia as the best goalkeeper, Hussein Al Freih from Saudi Arabia as the best right winger, Wahib Elias from Morocco as the best left winger, Maytham Abu Sari from Saudi Arabia as the best player in the circle, and Rizki Abdullah from Tunisia as the best Acer pack.

In the domestic league, the 12th round of the "Merge" handball league features two exciting matches today. Kuwait Club, currently with 20 points, will face Al-Sahel at 4:30 pm, while Al-Tadamon will play against Yarmouk at 6 p.m. Tomorrow's highlight will be the showdown between Al Salmiya, sitting second in the standings with 19 points, and Al Qadisiya, ranked third with the same score.

In other news, the under-13-year Al-Qurain handball Team clinched the Federation Cup title by defeating Al-Nasr in the final, with Kuwait Club securing the third spot. Khaled Talib, the Treasurer of the Handball Federation, awarded the teams in a ceremony attended by Al-Nasr Club President Khaled Al-Shraida and Al-Qurain Club President Abdul Karim Al-Shahoumi.

Faleh Al-Zoubi, the director of handball at Al-Nasr Club, attributed this achievement to the dedicated efforts of the administrative, technical staff, and players. He emphasized the club's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a competitive spirit across all age levels, aiming to make history and excel in various championships.

Al-Zoubi concluded by expressing optimism for the future, stating, "Nothing is impossible, and this is just the beginning; the best is yet to come."
