KUWAIT CITY, May 7: The Criminal Court ruled to imprison an Egyptian employee for seven years for embezzling KD29,000 -- the value of forged Kuwait Towers tickets. According to the case files, the Egyptian was arrested redhanded by the legal department of the Kuwait Towers Administration, in coordination with the detectives. He admitted to forging the tickets as he printed them and sold them within two years. He stole around KD29,000 after he infiltrated the database and tampered with the information and dates. The accused appeared before the court with his defense team that demanded for declaration of his innocence due to lack of incriminating evidence and that his confession was under duress.

However, the arbitrator disregarded the argument of the defense team, confirmed that the accusation against the Egyptian was proven true, and that the elements of the crime were present, which necessitated his imprisonment and deportation after serving time.
