KUWAIT CITY, Jan 24: The front-runner of the Basketball League Al-Qadisiya is gearing up for a formidable challenge as it faces Kazma in the fourth round of the second division tonight at 7:30 pm. Simultaneously, another intense showdown awaits in the same hall at 5:00 pm, where Al-Arabi and Al-Qurain will lock horns.

The top four teams from the preliminary round will secure a spot in the semi-finals. The semi-final matchups will follow a “play-off” system consisting of three matches, with the winners of two matches advancing to the final.

Entering the match at the summit of the standings with 21 points, Al-Qadisiya aims to extend its winning streak and widen the gap at the top. Kazma II, with 19 points, is determined to deliver a strong performance and surpass Al-Qadisiya, showcasing its potential to contend seriously for the league title.

Under the guidance of American coach Stebbing, Al-Qadisiya has showcased outstanding performances, with key players including Mohsen Mortada, Abdullah Tawfiq, Muhammad Ashkanani, Saad Al-Rifai, and American Elino. Meanwhile, Slovenian coach Bojan Lazic leads the Orange, relying on the efforts of players like Ahmed Al Balushi, Abdulaziz Al Hamidi, and Americans Chapman and Leslie.

In the second match, Al-Arabi, currently in fifth place with 15 points, aims for victory to enter the competition for the fourth qualifying spot in the golden square. Al-Qurain VI, with 14 points, faces challenges after the decision of the Board of Directors to abandon its professionals, creating an opportunity for Al-Arabi to seize the advantage in the league standings.
