Kuwait University Registers Patent for Developing Drug to Treat Asthma and Allergies

KUWAIT CITY, April 11: Kuwait University (KU), through the Patent and Intellectual Property Office of the University’s Vice President’s office for Research, registered a patent for developing a drug for treating asthma and allergy patients, at the US Patent and Trademark Office. In a statement, KU said on Tuesday that this achievement was made by the efforts of Prof. Dr. Charles Ezeamuzie from the Department of Pharmacology, College of Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Oludotun Phillips from the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the College of Pharmacy by inventing (Oxazolidinone Hydroxamic Acid Derivatives).

The Acting President of the University praised the honorable achievement, wishing them continued progress, while Acting Vice President for Research, Dr. Othman Al-Khudar said that scientific progress and sustainable economic development are the result of solid scientific research that focuses on finding the best innovative solutions (KUNA)
