Security intensified at roads around Kuwait schools

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 14: In conjunction with the Ministry of Interior’s preparations for the upcoming academic year, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, chaired a security meeting at the Ministry of Interior’s headquarters, reports Al-Rai daily. During the meeting, which was attended by assistant undersecretaries and Lieutenant General Anwar Al-Barjas, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Minister Al-Khaled received a comprehensive briefing on the Ministry of Interior’s field sectors’ readiness for the 2023-2024 academic year and the coordination mechanisms among them.

He also examined the deployment strategy for security and traffic operations across the country, including the deployment of both stationary and mobile patrols on main and secondary roads, intersections, and in the vicinity of educational institutions. The Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior emphasized the importance of promptly addressing traffic congestion, maintaining a firm stance against any violations, and fostering a culture of courtesy and assistance to motorists to ensure their safety on the roads.

He directed the intensification of security presence on highways and all key intersections leading to residential areas, as well as near educational institutions, to prevent traffic disruptions and unauthorized parking in front of schools. He also called for the consistent presence of supervisory and leadership personnel to monitor security and traffic conditions regularly. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of conducting awareness campaigns for vehicle drivers and guardians to promote compliance with traffic regulations, rules, and safe road behaviors that enhance road user safety.
