Kuwait City, May 6: American International University Kuwait (AIU) joins forces with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) to pioneer a transformative project in smart energy management. Dr. Omar Daoud, alongside a team of six dedicated students, spearheads the initiative aimed at curbing energy waste through innovative IoT solutions.

Under the guidance of Dr. Daoud, students will leverage smart wireless sensors and network actuators to develop a comprehensive energy management model tailored to AIU’s facilities. With KFAS funding, the project underscores AIU’s commitment to fostering student-led initiatives driving positive change and sustainability within Kuwait.

Over a one-year timeline, students will conduct a thorough survey to gather data on energy consumption behaviors within AIU facilities. This data will inform the development and implementation of control strategies and monitoring plans, optimizing energy usage and promoting sustainability.

Divided into six work packages, the project encompasses project management, deployment strategies, and dissemination activities. Upon completion, students will showcase their findings through publications, presentations, and international engagements, contributing to global conversations on energy efficiency.

AIU extends gratitude to KFAS, Dr. Omar Daoud, and his student team for their pivotal role in advancing sustainability initiatives. Supported by the KFAS grant, their efforts epitomize AIU’s dedication to innovation and environmental stewardship, exemplifying the power of collaboration in creating a sustainable future.
