Kuwait City, May 27: AIU is proud to announce the resounding success of the 1st Annual School of Arts and Sciences Symposium. This inaugural event set a high benchmark for future gatherings by bringing together groundbreaking discussions, creative exhibitions, and outstanding achievements in Biotechnology.
The symposium served as a unique platform for AIU students and faculty to explore and present their research, creativity, and innovations. Highlighting the intersection of scientific inquiry and artistic expression, the event had a vibrant community of learners and thinkers, celebrating the dynamic interplay between these disciplines.
A highlight of the symposium was the keynote address by Dr. Fatima Alrashed, Senior Scientist II & Principal Investigator at the Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI). Dr. Alrashed captivated the audience with her insights into student experiments at DDI and the exciting opportunities for summer internships. Her speech not only shed light on cutting-edge research but also inspired students to pursue their scientific passions.
The Poster Competition was a cornerstone of the symposium, with students presenting their scientific experiments through visually engaging posters. This competition showcased the depth and diversity of student research across various scientific disciplines including Biotechnology. After careful deliberation, the winners were announced as follows:
First Place: Mr. Aldanah Albahairi – Husain Kamal
Second Place: Ms. Iqra Nawaz
Third Place: Ms. Jumana Al Shatti
In addition to scientific presentations, the symposium celebrated artistic creativity through a photography competition. Students captured the essence of science and art in their photographs, displaying remarkable talent and vision. The winners impressed the judges with their unique perspectives and technical prowess:
