Abandoned cars lifted – ‘Jleeb for cleanliness’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 14: The Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy Department at Farwaniya Municipality launched two fi eld campaigns in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Hassawi areas during which two truckloads of spoiled fruits and vegetables, old furniture and used clothes were lifted, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The campaigns were aimed to remove everything that spoils the look of the areas. In this regard, Director of Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy Department at Farwaniya Municipality Saad Al-Khurainij urged citizens and expatriates to report their complaints using the hotline number 1844448 or through the social media account of Kuwait Municipality — @kuwmun.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations and Media Department of Kuwait Municipality, in coordination with the Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy Department of Farwaniya Municipality organized a campaign in Block 4 of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area during which 24 abandoned vehicles were lifted and 15 truckloads of debris and other garbage were removed. In a press release, the department explained that the campaign commenced at 9:00 am and ended at 1:30 pm on Jan 11.

Three trucks, 11 cranes and 25 laborers were used in the campaign. And, Director of the Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy Department of Farwaniya Municipality Saad Al- Khurainij affi rmed that such campaigns will continue in all areas of Farwaniya Governorate.

He stressed the keenness of the department to place warning stickers on abandoned vehicles in order to give the owners of those vehicles to remove them before they are lifted by the municipality and referred to Amghara garage for seized vehicles. Al-Khurainij urged owners of abandoned vehicles to move them in order to avoid the legal consequences which include fi nes. Meanwhile, the emergency team of Hawally Municipality launched a campaign targeting food stores and restaurants during which 14 citations were issued including eight for employing laborers without health certifi cates
