Hawkers stopped – Shops get citations

KUWAIT CITY, July 1: Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality stated the sector for checking and follow-up of municipal services at the Mubarak Al-Kabeer branch last May issued 41 violations against shops and 1,339 certificates. Director for Checking and Follow-up Department of the Kuwait Municipality Thaidan Al-Adwani said inspectors removed 1,465 billboards from roads and open areas, inspected 350 shops, issued 75 citations and destroyed 179 kg of foodstuff deemed unfit for human consumption, and closed down 3 shops.

He added 700 samples were sent to the Health Ministry’s laboratories for testing, while the issued 1,339 certificates, accomplished 41 applications for laboratory tests, 41 violations against shops of which 9 were related to health conditions, and collected KD 13,845 in revenue for the month.
