Municipality takes action against commercial encroachments.

KUWAIT CITY, April 14: The Director General of the Municipality, Engineer Saud Al-Dabbous, has instructed emergency teams across governorate branches to initiate inspection tours targeting commercial establishments encroaching on state property, particularly in areas such as dirt yards, squares, and sidewalks.

According to sources within the Al-Rai municipality, the unauthorized use of vacant lots belonging to state property has exceeded 55 percent in the lowest governorate, based on recent statistics, indicating a significant issue.

In response to these findings, the emergency team of the Hawalli Municipality Branch, led by Ibrahim Al-Sabaan, conducted field inspections resulting in the issuance of 16 violation reports. These violations primarily pertained to the unauthorized use of areas not specified in the establishment’s license. Additionally, warnings were issued for trespassing on state property, with preparations underway for the removal of encroachments.

In a separate development, the municipality announced plans to deposit rewards for outstanding work into the accounts of municipal employees following the Eid al-Fitr holiday. An official source within the municipality disclosed to Al-Rai that the total amount allocated for outstanding work is approximately one million and 300 thousand dinars. This sum is set to be distributed among approximately 2,500 male and female employees as recognition for their exceptional performance.
