Asian engineer held for liquor peddling

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: An Asian engineer working for a construction company was arrested for trading in locally manufactured liquor, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling the suburb of Abdullah Al-Mubarak when suspected an expatriate who was seen moving a number of bottles from two parked cars to his own car. When he saw the police approaching, he tried to run away but he was chased and seized. Police confiscated 764 bottles filled with locally manufactured liquor. The suspect admitted to running a “factory” for manufacturing alcohol. He was referred with the contraband to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Indian duo with drugs: Two Indians were arrested for possessing drugs and narcotic pills, reports Al- Anba daily. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were on routine patrol duty in Khaitan area when they suspected the two expatriates who were walking in the area and demanded them to stop. One of the suspects ran but he was chased and seized. He was found in possession of six sachets of a substance suspected to be heroin while the other suspect was found in possession of six narcotic pills. Both suspects have been referred with the confiscated drugs to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action.
