“THE passing of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad brought tears to the eyes of all Kuwaitis, who were deeply moved by his faith, humility, and his capacity for forgiveness. His virtuous actions undoubtedly tip the scales in favour of his good deeds. His life was an inspiration, prompting heartfelt prayers for the Almighty to grant him mercy and a place in the expansive Paradise,” columnist and CEO of the Arab Times and Al-Seyassah newspapers Sattam Al-Jarallah wrote for the newspapers. “In Kuwait, we mourn the loss of this esteemed father figure, whom we have known for his asceticism, virtuous deeds, and unwavering faith and its remarkable people throughout his tenure, whether as Crown Prince or as head of state, steadfastly upholding democracy and prioritizing the preservation of institutions and the separation of powers.

“Sheikh Nawaf, may he rest in peace, took great care to foster Kuwait’s relationships with all Arab nations, particularly our Gulf brethren. The sorrow extends beyond Kuwait’s borders, with grief palpable in all Gulf Cooperation Council countries and many Arab nations. “The enormity of the sadness lies in bidding farewell to a leader whose name is engraved in Kuwait’s history with letters of gold, forgiveness, and justice. “Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad leaves an indelible mark not only on Kuwait’s history but also on the broader Arab and global stage. He stands as a role model for leaders, distinguished by his commitment to engaging with all segments of society and his unwavering dedication to combating injustice wherever it may exist. “May God have mercy on Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad. We submit to the will of God, to whom we belong, and to whom we shall ultimately return.”
