KUWAIT CITY, Dec 20: In response to the recent demise of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, the late Amir of the country, the General Sports Authority has issued a directive to all sports entities. This directive encompasses comprehensive clubs, specialized clubs, sports federations, and the Olympic Committee, instructing them to temporarily halt all sporting activities and events.

The decision to postpone these activities is by the Council of Ministers’ resolution, which calls for a suspension of all operations and work across ministries and bodies as a gesture of mourning for the late Amir. The General Sports Authority emphasizes the importance of coordination with relevant authorities to determine new dates for the resumption of sporting events. Additionally, sports bodies are instructed to adhere to circulars issued, emphasizing the sole communication with government agencies through the Sports Authority during this period of mourning.

This measure is taken in the spirit of cooperation between all state agencies for the public interest and aligns with the current state of mourning in the country. The General Sports Authority urges compliance with these directives and expresses condolences for the loss of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad.
