KUWAIT CITY, May 5: Shafi Al-Hajri, President of the Kuwaiti Sports Club for the Disabled, disclosed that the Kuwaiti athletics team for the disabled has commenced the crucial final phase of their journey towards the World Championship, set to take place in Japan from May 12 to 26. This significant step involves a 10-day training camp in Turkey.

Al-Hajri further elaborated that the squad representing Kuwait in the championship comprises notable athletes such as Faisal Sorour, Faisal Al-Rajhi, Ahmed Naqa, Dhari Butti, Nasser Faraj, Hamad Hajji, and Abdullah Al-Anazi, alongside Malak Hadi and Saja Al-Azmi. He lauded their dedication and focus during training sessions.

Emphasizing the collective determination of both male and female players of the “Power Blue for the Disabled” team, Al-Hajri highlighted their relentless efforts to gear up optimally for the tournament. This edition holds immense significance as it serves as a qualifying platform for the forthcoming Paralympic Games in Paris this summer. The training camp represents the culmination of their preparation, following their participation in various regional tournaments over the past months.

Al-Hajri expressed confidence in the team’s morale and their aspiration to claim victory in one of the most challenging competitions in their sport. He acknowledged the unwavering support of the General Sports Authority and the Kuwait Paralympic Committee, attributing their numerous remarkable achievements to this backing.
