Faisal Al Rajhi celebrates his gold victory.

KOBE, May 18: Faisal Al-Rajhi, the standout athlete representing our national team in disabled athletics, clinched the gold medal in the 5,000-meter wheelchair race (T54 category) at the 11th World Championships in Athletics for the Disabled, currently underway in the Japanese city of Kobe.

Al-Rajhi completed the race in an impressive time of 10:50 minutes, surpassing his Japanese rival, Hyoguchi, and the Chinese athlete Luigsengshonan, who secured second and third place, respectively. This victory secures Al-Rajhi's spot in the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.

Leading the delegation of our national disabled team is Fahd Al-Mutairi, who dedicated this remarkable achievement to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad and the people of Kuwait.
