Kuwaiti woman held with 18 bottles of liquor; Arab expat held with drugs

KUWAIT CITY, June 2: Customs officers at the Kuwait International Airport have foiled the attempt of a Kuwaiti woman to smuggle 18 bottles of alcohol into the country, reports Al-Anba daily. The bottles were hidden in the baggage. The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department Major-General Mohammad Al-Sharhan had referred her to the Public Prosecution and the latter sent her to the Central Prison.

Arab expat held with drugs: An Arab expatriate was arrested in Hawally area in possession of drugs and a sharp object, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling Hawally area when they stopped a man driving a Japanese-made vehicle based on suspicions and checked his details to discover he is an Arab. Sensing his nervousness and noting the way he was holding a bag, they checked the bag and found drugs and a sharp object. He was arrested and referred to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen who was caught sitting inside his vehicle which was parked in a lot in Salmiya area was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities.
