KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: Boris Bonjak, the Serbian coach for Kuwait, emphasized the critical need for victory against Al-Wehdat and Al-Kahraba to secure qualification. He expressed his disappointment in the team for squandering scoring opportunities, which allowed Al-Ahly Aleppo Union to make a comeback in the match. He emphasized that the early lead should have been reinforced with another goal to decisively shape the outcome of the game and prevent any chance of a comeback by the opponent.

In a recent match, Kuwait played to a 1-1 draw with Al-Ahly Aleppo, which took place in the second group of the fourth round of the AFC Cup competition. As a result, “Al-Abyad” raised their points to 6, holding a goal difference advantage over Al-Wahdat of Jordan. Meanwhile, Al-Kahraba of Iraq claimed the top spot in the standings with 7 points, leaving Ahly Aleppo at the bottom with two points.

He acknowledged that both he and the players were fully aware of the opponent’s strength, which often exceeded their standing in the group’s rankings. The Kuwaiti coach underlined the importance of seizing the opportunity to qualify, emphasizing that the only viable path to do so is by securing victories against Al-Wehdat and Al-Kahraba.
