High-stakes showdown: Kuwait club gears up for Al-Rayyan in Asian Super League

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: Al-Kuwait basketball team is set to host Al-Rayyan, its Qatari counterpart, at 5:00 pm at Al-Ittihad Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. This matchup is part of the second round of the Asian Super League Championship for the Gulf region’s first group competitions.

Al-Abyad, the runner-up in the previous edition, comes into this contest following a victory in the first round against Bahrain’s Al-Muharraq. Similarly, Al-Rayyan secured a win against Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia. The battle between these two teams aims to establish an early lead in the group. The Kuwaiti team boasts a roster of distinguished players, including the Muhammad brothers, Hamad Adnan, Turki Al-Shammari, Alex Al-Ghais, Omran Johar, Mustafa Al-Rifai, and Abdul Rahman Al-Sahu. Additionally, they have three professionals, Marcus Georgius Hunt, Cadi LaLanne, and Baker, under the guidance of German coach Peter Schumers.

In recent General Basketball League action, Al-Qadsia triumphed over Al-Nasr with a score of 95-82, boosting their tally to 12 points, while Al-Anabi now stands at 8 points.
In another matchup, Al-Qurain secured a 95-79 victory over Yarmouk, bringing their point total to 7, while Yarmouk reached 5 points. Kazma also emerged victorious against Al-Arabi with a score of 73-70, while Kuwait halted Sulaibikhat’s winning streak with a commanding 123-50 victory.
