LOS ANGELES, April 27: Britney Spears has reached a settlement with her father, marking the conclusion of a long-standing legal battle over her conservatorship. The terms of the settlement, confirmed by attorneys for both parties to CNN, were not disclosed.

In a statement to CNN, Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent the pop icon. “It has been our honor and privilege to represent, protect, and defend Britney Spears,” Rosengart said. He emphasized that Spears’ desire for freedom, which led to the termination of her conservatorship in November 2021, is now fully realized.

Jamie Spears, Britney’s father, expressed his satisfaction with the settlement through his attorney, Alex Weingarten. “Jamie is thrilled that this is all over,” Weingarten told CNN. He reiterated Jamie’s love for his daughter and his unwavering commitment to her well-being.

Britney Spears’ conservatorship, under which her father controlled her finances and medical decisions, was terminated in November 2021. However, legal disputes persisted, including battles over attorney’s fees and allegations of improper conduct in managing the conservatorship.

The termination of the conservatorship followed Britney’s powerful testimony in June 2021, during which she described the arrangement as “abusive” and pleaded for her freedom. She revealed instances of forced medication, restrictions on marriage and parenthood, and other infringements on her autonomy.

Since the termination of her conservatorship, Britney Spears has been actively engaging with her fans on social media, releasing new music, and sharing insights into her life. In her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” she reflects on the years of her conservatorship, describing them as “soul-crushing” and expressing her desire to reclaim her autonomy.

The settlement brings an end to a chapter of legal turmoil in Britney Spears’ life, allowing her to move forward with newfound freedom and independence.
