IRAQ, May 9: Yesterday, Wednesday, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior disclosed harrowing details of a shocking crime that has left the nation reeling. In a devastating turn of events, a father gruesomely ended the lives of his entire family before taking his own in Basra Governorate.
Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, the spokesman for the Ministry and the Security Media Cell, conveyed in a statement, “In a tragic criminal episode, a father fatally shot his entire family, comprising 12 members, before turning the gun on himself in the Dur al-Mutafif area of the Shatt al-Arab District in Basra Governorate.”
The statement further elucidated, “Preliminary findings suggest that the incident may have stemmed from financial woes.”
Miri added, “The Basra Governorate Police Command promptly responded to the scene and launched a thorough investigation into the incident.”
