Grand winner to be announced Oct 1

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: The long wait is over! Finally after months of audition, elimination and grand fi- nals, the Pinoy Arabia ME DJ Quest 2021 will be announced on October 1, 2021 at the Season 19 Restaurant & Café in Salmiya. The top 10 finalists vying for the grand prize are DJ Argie, DJ Eros, DJ Harri, DJ Julieciousa, DJ Lover, DJ Neil, DJ Marky, DJ Papa Jeth, DJ Rosie and DJ Shawie. The Pinoy Arabia ME DJ Quest 2021 awarding ceremony will be graced by Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Mohd Noordin Pendosina Lomondot as the guest of honor as well as Labor Attache Nasser Mustafa, Vice Consul Josel Mostajo, Assistant Labor Attache Cathrine Duladul and Welfare Officer Genevieve Ardiente as special guests. Pinoy Arabia ME, the most listened to Filipino community service online radio in Kuwait powered by Marina FM launched the Pinoy Arabia ME “DJ Quest 2021” as it marked its 6th year last year.

The competition sponsored by Ooredoo, Dadabhai Travel and Tours, Al Muzaini Exchange Co, Season 19 Restaurant & Cafe and Al Kout Plus was opened to all Filipino nationals or of Filipino descent, 19 years old and above, with good moral standing who want to showcase their talent on the radio. A total of 34 aspiring DJs sent their one-minute audition video to Pinoy Arabia ME and took a shot to the “Pinoy Arabia ME DJ Quest 2021.” Audition videos were posted on Pinoy Arabia ME Facebook page from January 31, 2021 to February 28, 2021 and the qualifiers were selected in March 2021.

Elimination
The 20 qualifiers were announced and were reduced to Top 10 in the process of elimination based on these criteria: 50% – number of video views and likes & 50% – jurors’ ratings (Performance, Voice Quality, X-Factor, Audience Connection). The 10 finalists went on board once a week with their assigned DJ mentor to coach them.

They were given four tasks: Rave Party; Love Vibes; Retro Party and a show-format of their choice. They were rated based on their Performance (40%), Audience Connection (30%), Voice Quality (20%) and X-Factor (10%) which form 90% plus the total number of views after each live performance which constitutes 10% of the total score. This was the longest competition that Pinoy Arabia ME had amid the pandemic as the top 10 finalists had to be all vaccinated first to have access to Marina Mall before embarking on the final round of tasks.

The prizes up for grabs would be KD 500 cash and one round trip ticket to Manila courtesy of Dadabhai Travel and Tours plus the DJ Quest 2021 Grand Winner will have his/ her own weekly program on Pinoy Arabia ME. Runners up will receive valuable consolation prizes.
