KBC league tourney reaches semis stage – Kuwait cricket plays as wonderful host

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: The prestigious Kuwait Banks Club league tournament has reached the final stages where two top teams of each pool will clash against each other in the semifinals for the Cup final & the other 4 teams will play the semifinals for the Plate final. Kuwait Banks Club, which have nine Bank teams currently affiliated with them are the sponsors of the KBC league and Kuwait Cricket, the apex body of controlling cricket are the host of the ongoing KBC league 2015-16.

To find a place in the Cup final Ahli United Bank will face Kuwait Finance House in the first semifinal while Commercial Bank of Kuwait, a team which upset National Bank of Kuwait to reach the top four will take on star studded Boubyan Bank. A glance at the scorecards indicates that all four top teams are capable of causing major upsets as they have batsmen who has shown good staying power which was exhibited in the early round matches.

The other four teams to contest for the Plate finals are National Bank of Kuwait which will play Kuwait International Bank, while Burgan Bank is pitted against Ahli Bank of Kuwait. Akeen contest is on the slate and a combined effort of players with some astute captaincy will ensure a tough match. The weather forecast is likely to help the seamers who could move the ball either way and once the ball is a few overs old, the Sulaibiya pitch with a little bounce & spin will assist the spinners too.
