In another development, MP Khalil Abdullah has forwarded queries to Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Hind Al-Sabeh about the growing expatriate population in Kuwait. He took this step in a bid to identify the actual number of Kuwaitis, expatriates, Bedouns and illegal residents to pave way for addressing the lopsided population structure and work towards sustainable development. He demanded for pertinent information such as the number of Kuwaitis, expatriates and Bedouns starting from the last Census till date, their nationalities, gender and educational qualifications. He asked if the ministry intends to address the expatriate population issue to suit the needs of the country and if there is a study on the expected population growth in the next five to 10 years. If the answer is yes, he requested for copies of the plan and the study.
