KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7: An Egyptian woman and her 16-year-old daughter sustained minor injuries after fighting with two Asian women in Maidan Hawally. Securitymen rushed to the location after the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received information on the fight. The medical emergency team that accompanied the officers provided treatment to the Egyptian woman and her daughter on the spot. Meanwhile, a Sri Lankan filed a complaint at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station against his compatriots who allegedly beat and robbed him. He provided police with a detailed description of the suspects and investigations are ongoing to arrest them.
Eve-teasers beat duo: Two Kuwaitis sustained serious injuries in different parts of their bodies when 20 youths beat them in Khairan, reports Al- Seyassah daily. According to a security source, five youths passed in front of a chalet and harassed the family who were staying there. The two Kuwaitis then asked the five youths to stop what they were doing, pointing out the chalet belongs to them. The five youths did not heed the request of the two Kuwaitis. They left the chalet and returned with 20 youths who beat the two Kuwaitis. The two Kuwaitis were rushed to a nearby hospital while four of the young assailants were arrested. A case was registered and investigations are in progress to arrest the other suspects.
‘Girlfriend assaulted’: A Kuwaiti girl lodged a complaint against a person she knows and accused him of stealing wallet containing her photograph, KD 100 cash, civil ID and bank cards after assaulting her in the course of a quarrel at Hawalli area. A case was registered, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Drug-maker nabbed: Securitymen from the Drug Control General Department (DCGD) arrested an expatriate in Ahmadi for manufacturing narcotic substances with four kilograms of shabu, liquid substances and a weighing scale in his possession. In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media Department in the Interior Ministry revealed that the securitymen received information on the illegal acts of the expatriate. They put the suspect under surveillance and took the necessary measures after verifying the information. They raided the suspect’s house in Ahmadi resulting in the discovery of the abovementioned items. During interrogation, the suspect admitted to manufacturing narcotic substances in his house, so he was referred to the concerned security unit along with the confiscated items.
Robbed at knife-point: An unknown individual attacked an Asian expatriate in Jahra area, robbed him of KD 85 and ran away. The victim went to Jahra Police Station with a medical report and explained to securitymen that an unknown man in casual wear and armed with a knife stopped him and took his wallet. The victim provided securitymen with the suspect’s description. Investigations have been launched to find and arrest the suspect. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti woman made a distress call to the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior to report that an unknown individual broke the glass of her vehicle and tried to rob her. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location. They examined the vehicle and lifted fingerprints to identify the suspect. A case was registered in the police station of the area.
Liquor in plastic bags: Farwaniya securitymen arrested an Asian expatriate in Hasawi area for peddling in alcohol. He was in possession of sachets of local-made liquor. A security source said the suspect was spotted in a vehicle at the aforementioned area, and security officers pursued and arrested him after he ignored orders to stop for checking. The officers conducted a search in his vehicle and recovered the contraband.
