KUWAIT CITY, Feb 23: The Negative Phenomena Committee held a meeting yesterday, to discuss a proposal which has been submitted by the committee members calling on the Council of Ministers to establish a joint committee comprising members from all relevant government agencies to combat the negative phenomena in society, such as drugs, community violence, harassment of the fair sex, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The meeting said the public benefit associations and specialists must be called upon to study the causes, implications, motives of such phenomenon and how this phenomenon should be treated.

The head of the committee, MP Badr Al- Dhahoum, said the issue was discussed in the presence of the concerned authorities – the ministries of Interior, Social Affairs, Health, Awqaf and the General Administration of Customs.

All those present during the meeting have agreed on the importance of the committee to discuss the causes of the phenomena, foremost among which are drugs.
