‘Door is open for issuance and renewal of Bedoun passports’

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization and Residence Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major- General Sheikh Mazen Al- Jarrah was quoted as saying the door is open to receive transactions for the issuance and renewal of Article 17 passports for illegal residents or the so-called bedoun, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

He added, this is for bedoun who are registered in the 1965 census and the children of Kuwaiti women. He also said the recipient of such passports should not have security restrictions and must hold a valid security card. Al-Jarrah told the daily, the department receives the transactions from bedoun for Article 17 passports and denied rumors which said these services had been suspended. He pointed out the head of the department receives such transactions on a daily basis.
