Decision to reduce camping season yet to be made

Season set to start Nov 15

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: Director of Coastal & Desertifi- cation Monitoring Department at the Environmental Public Authority (EPA) Abeer Al-Abri affirmed the decision to reduce the camping season is yet to be made, indicating this year’s season is due to start on Nov 15 until March 15, 2019, reports Al-Anba daily.

In a statement to the daily, Al-Abri indicated ongoing coordination with Kuwait Municipality to prepare for this season in line with specified conditions and standards, and the total allocation area for camping in the northern and southern areas of the country is about 681 square kilometers divided into 18 sites. She noted that EPA’s inspection team will monitor and conduct periodic surveys of the camping sites in coordination with teams from the environmental police that will monitor environmental violations.
