KUWAIT CITY, Dec 9: Securitymen have arrested an unidentified man in uniform for abusing his authority and robbing expatriates, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said the arrest came after an Egyptian and four Asians filed complaints with the Khaitan Police Station. The complainants said the policeman was accompanied by another man in civil dress, who also claimed to be police, and stole KD 250 from them. Based on the description given by the victims, police brought the suspect for identification and he was picked from a legal lineup. The policeman then admitted to the charge and offered to return the money. However, the offer was turned down and he was handed over for legal action.
Trading in weapons: Based on intensive investigations, securitymen arrested a citizen for trading in unlicensed weapons, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily quoting security sources said acting on information police put the citizen under surveillance and seized from his car 9 pistols. During interrogation the man said he got the pistols from a neighboring country for KD 600 each. Meanwhile, police have arrested a 53- year-old Kuwaiti for possessing an unlicensed gun and rounds of ammunition, endangering the lives of others and consuming drugs, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said the arrest came after an unidentified person informed the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry that an unidentified person in Hadiya was firing in the air indiscriminately early morning. When police rushed to the spot, they saw the man standing in front of his home with a gun in hand. He also looked disoriented. Police then searched the man and seized eight bullets from his pocket, a ‘Colt’ pistol in a litter bin in the kitchen of his home. The citizen was taken to the area police station and then handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department.
