LONDON, May 6: A woman from Essex has been apprehended following a distressing incident at Legoland Windsor Resort, where a five-month-old baby experienced a cardiac arrest, resulting in critical condition, Thames Valley Police confirmed.

The harrowing event unfolded around 13:00 BST on Thursday when the infant required urgent medical attention at the renowned theme park.

Transported to a nearby hospital, the baby remains in critical condition as medical professionals continue their efforts to stabilize his health, stated Thames Valley Police.

A 27-year-old woman from Witham was taken into custody on Saturday under suspicion of neglecting a child to cause unnecessary harm. She has since been released on police bail until 26 July pending further investigation.

Detective Constable Zoe Eele, from the child abuse investigation unit, expressed condolences to the family of the injured child and emphasized ongoing support being extended to them during this challenging period.

Describing the incident as distressing, Eele urged anyone with pertinent information, especially individuals present near the Coastguard HQ boat ride between 11:30 am and 12:45 pm, to come forward and assist with inquiries.

While confirming an arrest in connection with the incident, Eele stressed that the police are not actively seeking additional suspects.

Eele also implored the public to refrain from engaging in speculation surrounding the incident and appealed for privacy and respect for the family’s ordeal during this difficult time.
