Woman acquitted of sending ‘rude’ messages

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 21: Misdemeanor Court presided over by Judge Saud Al-Sane’ acquitted a Kuwaiti woman who was accused of sending offensive “Whatsapp” messages to her ex-husband. Reportedly, the man fi led a case against his ex-wife, accusing her of sending him messages through Whatsapp instant messaging service, with words that he considered offensive.

However, the defense counsel Lawyer Bushra Al-Hindal insisted that the allegations against her client were malicious and the plaintiff delayed to report, adding that her client did not have any criminal intention in her actions.

Lawyer Al-Hindal explained that the messages her client had sent to the plaintiff were aimed at explaining family problems that existed between the two during their marriage, insisting that nothing in those text messages violate the Law No. 63/2015 concerning cybercrimes.
