‘The Russian President Vladimir Putin’s tour of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was a turning point in the course of the regional situation, because it shed light on many important points, whether in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, or the course of the special operation carried out by Russia in Ukraine, or about oil and its supplies.”

“The established Arab-Russian relations have an important role in supporting Arab issues, because Moscow’s role historically has been in support of Arab rights, and it has even supported the Arabs throughout the past seven decades.

“Based on this history, the role of the Russian Federation today in the region is important, because it works according to a systematic plan to support the Arabs, whether about the Palestinian issue, or the Arab-Israeli conflict, and Moscow is the pivot politically, geographically and economically with the Arab world.

“There is no doubt that Kuwaiti-Russian relations are ancient, and Kuwait does not forget the positive role that Moscow played in 1961, to gain its independence from the United Kingdom, as relations since 1963 were based on respect and cultural and commercial exchange.

“Rather, it can be said that since its independence, Kuwait has been a channel for Russia to cross into the Gulf states. “This mutual role between Moscow and Kuwait has been established in recent years, through many tools, but this must crystallize through several channels that still need to be developed, with a historical partner, whether in the fields of investment, transportation, nuclear, oil, or others.

“One of the areas, especially after Russia exempted Kuwaiti citizens from visas, which is a step that must be appreciated and worked towards to increase tourism and commercial exchange between the two countries.

“This is especially since Kuwait signed a defense agreement between Kuwait and the Russian Federation and cooperation between the two friendly countries in 1993, which is part of the international system through which Kuwait strengthened its defense cooperation with the permanent members of the UN Security Council.

“In all of this, we must acknowledge that what Russia is engaged in today, and in its confrontation with the West and the United States in Ukraine, is what can be considered an indirect protection of international peace, security, and stability, because Western arrogance and attempts to surround Russia with NATO armies mean, in the end, that if they succeed, the attempts to undermine the independence of countries outside the scope of Western hegemony, or what can be considered the killing of the last hope of freedom for peoples.”
