SYDNEY, Australia, April 15: Local media reports indicate that a bishop and multiple individuals were stabbed during a sermon in Sydney, with the incident streamed online.

The event occurred on Monday night in the suburb of Wakeley, prompting police response following reports of multiple stabbings. Fortunately, authorities stated that none of the injuries sustained were life-threatening.

According to police reports, a suspect has been apprehended and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. The weapon used in the attack remains undisclosed at this time.

The altercation reportedly took place at the Christ The Good Shepherd Church. Video footage of the streamed sermon captured a man, dressed in dark clothing, approaching the bishop and allegedly assaulting him. After the attack, several individuals attempted to intervene amidst screams of horror.

In an official statement, police confirmed that the injured individuals are receiving treatment from NSW Ambulance paramedics.

As a precautionary measure, the community has been advised to avoid the area where the incident transpired.

This incident follows closely after a tragic event at a shopping mall in the same city, where six individuals lost their lives. The assailant was subsequently neutralized by law enforcement.

Authorities have clarified that there is currently no evidence suggesting a connection between the two incidents.
