KUWAIT CITY, Jan 3:The Misdemeanor Court presided over by Judge Omar Al-Otal acquitted two traders who were accused of intentionally selling fake contact lenses bearing the trademark of a company that did not produce the lenses.

Representing one of the defendants at the court session was Lawyer Mohammad Al-Qattan who insisted that the accusations leveled by the Public Prosecution against his client are suspicious due to the fact that they are based on a report from the Department of Criminal Investigations which tested some samples of the contact lenses and discovered they are not original.

Lawyer Al-Qattan stressed the invalidity of the procedures followed by the arresting officer, especially since he failed to prove that the samples were taken from the trader’s shop, let alone the fact that the trader refused to disclose from where he purchased his products.
