LONDON, April 17: Prince William is set to return to his royal duties after taking time off to care for his family following his wife Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis. The Duke of Cambridge, 41, had temporarily stepped back to support his wife and children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 – during their school break.

According to a report from People on Tuesday, April 16, an insider revealed that Prince William will resume his royal duties as his children’s break comes to an end. Princess Kate, 42, is undergoing treatment, and Prince William has taken on additional responsibilities at home. The children are scheduled to return to school on April 17, with Prince William expected to return to his royal duties the following day.

Notably, this will mark Prince William’s first official engagement since Duchess Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March. The couple opted out of joining other members of the Royal family for Easter celebrations at the end of March.

Kensington Palace disclosed that on Thursday, the Prince will participate in events celebrating the work of community and environmental organizations in London and Surrey. His itinerary includes a visit to Surplus to Supper, a food distribution charity, followed by a trip to a West London youth center that benefits from the organization’s food deliveries.

Duchess Kate shared her cancer diagnosis in a video message on March 22, following abdominal surgery. “However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she said. “We hope you’ll understand that as a family, we now need some time, space, and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy, and I look forward to being back when I’m able. But for now, I must focus on making a full recovery.”
