Martyrs called to mind as Kuwait celebrates freedom

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah, Prime Minister, the first live show of traditional arts under the title (Dar Al-Jamayel) was held Saturday at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah AlMubarak Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Culture Dr. Hamad Ahmed Rouh Al-Din and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and senior state officials.

The ceremony, which is considered the first of the activities of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center to celebrate the national holidays, included national musical performances and live performances of various colors of folklore, in addition to showing film materials on Kuwaiti heritage. In a press statement after the ceremony, His Highness the Prime Minister expressed his congratulations to His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince, may God preserve and protect them, and the Kuwaiti people on the occasion of the national holidays, wishing continued progress and prosperity for the State of Kuwait and its loyal people.

Achieve
His Highness the Prime Minister said that as the country celebrates the 61st anniversary of independence and the 31st anniversary of liberation, it is entering a new phase that pushes us to work more to achieve its development goals and complete its pioneering path of giving and building. His Highness stressed his pride in attending the national ceremony at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, which refl ects the country’s distinctive civilized and cultural image. His Highness recalled with appreciation the sacrifices made by the righteous Kuwaiti martyrs, praying to the Lord to include them with His mercy and to dwell them in His vast gardens, as a reward for the sacrifices they made to their people and their country, which had a great impact in maintaining the stability and sovereignty of the country.

Minister of Information and Culture Rouheddine affirmed on Saturday that the national celebrations this year have a special character that refl ects the patriotic interest of the political leadership and government. This came in a statement by the minister to KUNA after his visit to Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, in the company of the Prime Minister. The celebrations are being held under auspices of the Minister of Information and Culture, who launched a unique image of representing the Kuwaiti heritage by involving many popular groups of various kinds in the national activities. The Kuwaiti celebrations during the era of the late Sheikh Sabah Ahmad Al- Jaber presented a beautiful Dar Al-Jamayel, “the Art of Al-Ardah.”, (KUNA)
