KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6, (Agencies): In an effort to meet the needs of school administrations and improve educational services, the Ministry of Education has launched the ‘Russell’ electronic system to enhance communication with schools. This initiative was undertaken under the guidance of Dr. Adel Al-Mana, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Information Systems Department has developed an electronic mechanism that allows direct communication between school administrations and the minister’s office to receive and expedite school requests and needs. These are directed to the relevant departments within the Ministry, ensuring prompt resolution.

Engr Hoda Al-Mutairi, the Director of the Information Systems Department at the Ministry of Education, announced the launch of the ‘Russell’ service. It includes a new feature integrated into the school’s mail system that enables school principals to activate the service after identity verification. They can use this service to submit notifications regarding administrative and educational matters, as well as maintenance requests for school buildings. These notifications are sent directly to the minister’s office, particularly the Coordination and Follow-up Department.

The introduction of this service is in compliance with Dr. Al-Mana’s directives to enhance direct interaction with school administrations, understand the field’s educational needs, and respond to their feedback. This comes after field visits to schools where Dr. Al-Mana listened to feedback and suggestions from educational professionals, emphasizing the importance of opening channels for direct communication with school administrations. The goal is to improve services and overcome obstacles effectively.

Through the ‘Russell’ service, the Coordination and Follow-up Department at the minister’s office can electronically track school requests, route them to the relevant departments, and ensure their processing and implementation according to Ministry regulations. Furthermore, periodic reports are generated to monitor the progress of school requests and assess the performance of different Ministry sectors. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of educational services and effectively meet the needs of school administrations.

Al-Mutairi highlighted that school principals will be trained on the process of submitting requests through the ‘Russell’ service by support sections in educational regions to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the system.

Additionally, the Ministry of Education calls upon educational regions and the Religious Education Department to urgently provide all vacant supervisory positions. This move is part of the continuous effort to organize and improve the educational and pedagogical processes in the education field.
