Kuwaitization in MEW’s power & water plants hits 95%

KUWAIT CITY, April 30: According to informed sources in the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the rate of Kuwaitization among workers in the power plants and water distillation stations has reached 95 percent. They explained that the total number of workers in the stations is 6,800, including 6,445 Kuwaitis and 355 non- Kuwaitis. The number of stations affiliated with the ministry is six, where Kuwaitization rates are reaching more than 99 percent. This includes the Shuwaikh station, where the total number of Kuwaiti employees is 467, compared to ten non-Kuwaitis, and the Shuaiba Station, where there are 1,157 Kuwaiti employees and 34 non-Kuwaitis.

Implement
The sources stressed the ministry’s keenness to implement the Kuwaitization policy in all sectors, especially the electric power and water distillation sector, which is the backbone of the ministry and the basic foundation of its work. They indicated that the increase in the number of graduates from engineering colleges with their various specializations helped the ministry accelerate the pace of Kuwaitization in this important sector. The sources stressed the ministry’s keenness to request the nomination of citizens for engineering and technical jobs from the Civil Service Commission when it estimates its need for employees in the fiscal years that include the needs of agencies and ministries for employees.
