Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad … an outstanding diplomatic figure

EVERYONE in Kuwait is demanding pumping fresh blood into the arteries of the State. The appointment of Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs is one way of upgrading the State, especially since he has vast experience in the field and known for his efficiency in his career. Without a doubt, all public institutions are in need of efficient leaders in order to improve their performance and address the deterioration we have been witnessing over time, because of maintaining old positions. When an experienced and competent figure is appointed, it means the field will witness development and innovation.

It is known that Sheikh Jarrah learned a lot from HH the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He is an experienced diplomat who served at the United Nations (UN), which is considered the ‘kitchen’ of global decision making. Thus, he is aware of the vital issues concerning Kuwait, the region and the Arab world. He knows well what should be done in his new position.

In fact, many people do not know much about the contributions of Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Sabah to the UN, because he does not like being under the spotlight. He focuses only on the interests of Kuwait, with the aim of presenting a suitable image for the country. He played a distinguished role as part of the Kuwaiti mission to the UN, particularly in enhancing the world’s view about Kuwait.

Actually, global politics is very sensitive; hence, the need for experienced persons to occupy such a position. All those who were previously appointed to the post were competent and efficient diplomats, so the appointment of Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad is highly appreciated. We cannot ignore the role of Ambassador Mansour Ayyad Al-Otaibi in this position. We can say Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad is the best successor to the best predecessor.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah needs to address a number of issues. Definitely, he is aware of the details about these issues; considering his long and successful career, as well as his vast relations with the employees at the ministry and ambassadors of other countries to Kuwait. In conclusion, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Sabah is a competent diplomatic figure who is not interested in showing off.
