NEW DELHI, Nov 4: Gurpreet Singh, the lover of a cheating British wife sentenced to death in India for murdering her husband, has chillingly confessed to his role in the crime. Gurpreet admitted that he struck his childhood friend, Sukhjit Singh, with a hammer and then slit his throat while he slept at his mother’s house in India in September 2016.

The wife, Ramandeep Kaur Mann, was found guilty of her husband’s murder and sentenced to capital punishment. Her trial revealed that she had given her husband a sedative-laced biryani and allowed Gurpreet to enter their home to kill him, reports Daily Mail.

In a recorded video confession to Indian police, Gurpreet explained that Mann instigated the murder due to her frustration with her husband’s alleged drug use and domestic abuse. He recounted the details of the night, describing how he carried out the gruesome act.

Gurpreet was arrested while attempting to board a flight to Dubai, where he lived, shortly after the murder.

In his confession, he stated that he and Mann became close after she confided in him about her husband’s drug abuse and domestic violence.

Mann’s trial revealed that her affair with Gurpreet began when she visited him in Dubai in December 2015. They later traveled to India to visit her husband’s mother.

Gurpreet mentioned that Mann instructed him to come to the village where her husband’s mother lived, and on the night of the murder, they entered the home together.

After committing the murder, Gurpreet disposed of the weapons and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Mann, who maintains her innocence, is also imprisoned and has appealed her death sentence.
