US airstrike kills 5 Al-Qaeda members in Yemen

WASHINGTON, Oct 26 (KUNA) — A US airstrike has killed five “enemy fighters” from Al-Qaeda in Marib Governorate in central Yemen, the Pentagon announced on Wednesday.
“Al-Qaeda’s presence has a destabilizing effect on Yemen, and we are working to deny them a haven from which to plan future attacks,” Spokesperson of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) Josh Jacques said.
Eight other “enemy fighters” have been killed by the US in the last two weeks, he added.
The US has recently stepped up its attacks on Yemeni targets that it says harbor Al-Qaeda militants
