Salmiya Club’s Squash team prep for new season – Egypt chosen to hold training camp

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: The training camp of Salmiya Club’s Squash team began on Monday, September 4 and will continue until September 18 in preparation for the kickoff of the new season in which Salmiya Club through its distinguished players is seeking to uphold its achievements of the previous season.

Head of the Squash and Table Tennis technical team and Deputy Treasurer of Salmiya Club Jawad Al-Ghareeb affirmed that the training camp will be a good opportunity for preparing for the new season through intensive training of the players, indicating that they will play friendly matches with Egyptian football champions.

He said Egypt was chosen for holding the training camp because it hosts world champions at the highest level and due to the availability of equipped grounds and the possibility of playing friendly matches with world champions.

Al-Ghareeb highlighted that the presence of the club’s youth and junior squash teams in the training camp is in line with the club’s strategy to nurture a new generation of players to serve as an extension of the current Kuwaiti champions.

He expressed gratitude and appreciation to the officials at the Public Authority for Sports for their support which has been contributing to the advancement of the sport in Kuwait.
