‘Preparedness’ of mosques checked to observe 27th night

KUWAIT CITY, June 29: Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Mosque Sector and Administrative Affairs in the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Waleed Al-Shu’aib declared total coordination between officials of the ministry and their counterparts in Interior Ministry to ensure the comfort of a large congregation of Muslims that will observe 27th Ramadan night prayer at the Grand Mosque and other mosques, as well as Ramadan centers across the country.

Dr Al-Waleed made the disclosure after concluding a joint inspection tour of some mosques countrywide with the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security in the Ministry of Interior Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah.

The tour took them to the Grand Mosque in Kuwait City, Al-Kanderi Mosque and Bin Nakhi Mosque in Sabah Al-Salem, Al-Quds Mosque in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Jaber Al-Ali Mosque in Jaber Al-Ali and Duaij Al-Sabah Mosque in Sabahiya.

He noted the tour was part of the daily routine to various mosques to ascertain the level of preparedness and to guarantee security and services are in place for worshippers. He also said the ministry will prepare open spaces around Al-Rashid Mosque in Adailiya area for interested worshippers to observe the prayer.

Faithful throng Grand Mosque for ‘Qiyam’ prayers
Worshippers continue to relive the last 10 days of the Holy Month of Ramadan in Kuwait Grand Mosque and various parts of the country. On the 24th night of Ramadan, the congregation was led in prayers by Sheikh Fahad Al-Kandari and Ahmad Al-Nafees. In his sermon, Sheikh Al- Kandari spoke about the Holy Qur’an being the gift for all humanity and the importance of studying the Holy Qur’an.

Al-Kandari also pointed out various verses of the Holy Qur’an that led many people to convert to Islam, even among the intellectual elites who converted to Islam after knowing that the first verse to be revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was about urging him to read.

Other programs organized for women during these blessed nights in Kuwait Grand Mosque include a lecture entitled, “Certainty”, delivered by Waseema Al-Mustateer. She said the level of certainty in religion can be achieved by contemplating on the name and attributes of Almighty Allah
