Illegal padel stadiums face closure

KUWAIT CITY, July 13: An informed source revealed that the municipality will soon start issuing violations against the padel stadiums which have scattered all over the country as the concerned authority prepares to get rid of all unlicensed padel stadiums in the country, reports Al- Qabas daily.

A reliable source explained that the Municipality teams concerned with removing violations in all governorates have limited these stadiums in accordance with the recommendation of the Supreme Planning Committee, noting that a first stage will start by issuing warnings to violators, preparing reports and then dismantling the unlicensed stadiums established in public interest associations after which all stadiums will be removed, while others will be built in residential, investment, commercial, industrial and other locations.

The source indicated that the Supreme Committee for Planning, in its meeting held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Municipality Dr Rana Al-Faris on June 5, issued a recommendation to assign the director of the office of the Minister of Municipality to follow up the list of padel stadiums and instruct the deputy director-general for the affairs of the governorates’ municipalities to direct the governorate managers to make an inventory of all the stadiums and submit a detailed report to the committee, including a list of the unlicensed stadiums, their locations and their compatibility with the regulation organizing and allocating playgrounds that have been prepared by the municipality. He said that the committee recommended that all necessary legal measures be taken urgently
