Fake domestic labor office busted – Ethiopian gang involved

KUWAIT CITY, May 11:  An Ethiopian gang of eight men and ten women was arrested for running a fake domestic labor office and cheating Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates as well as providing shelter to runaway domestic workers and providing them with illegal employment.

According to security sources, when the General Department for Residency Security Affairs received information about some expatriates working in a fake domestic labor office who have been swindling Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates, a team was formed for investigations.

They discovered that the gang swindles citizens and expatriates who come to the office for domestic workers with the impression that it is licensed when in reality the office is illegal. After confirming the information, the team raided the office and arrested eight men and ten women of Ethiopian nationality and confiscated forged receipts. The suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action
