Anti-graft body convenes special meet on fake certificates

KUWAIT CITY, Dec19: Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority will convene a special meeting with the National Bureau of Academic Accreditation and Quality Education Assurance to discuss the issue of fake certificates, reports Al Shahed daily quoting informed sources.

Taking into account the committees formed to tackle the issue were overwhelmed with the volume of the spread of fake certificates in the corridors of public and private sectors, it became necessary to convene a meeting to find legal means of eradicating the phenomenon that tarnishes the image of Kuwait.

They stressed the authority will reveal the names of holders of fake certificates even if they are ministers, MPs or senior officials. They noted the number of exposed fake certificates exceeds 500 but statements were amended due to pressure alleging the certificates belong to expatriates while other authorities and committees affirm about 35 fake certificates belong to academics still working in private universities and Kuwait University
