Mr. Mohammed Al-Sanousi, whether as a journalist, politician, artist, or even as a businessman is a unique personality in his own way.

Al-Sanousi presented creativity in a useful and interesting form of art, and outlined political positions that demonstrated the strength of his personality despite the short period during which he accepted to be Minister of Information and distanced himself after almost all the forces of backwardness sought to isolate him, and circumstances prevented him from his desire to fight who sought to interrogate him.

Al-Sanousi was born in 1938 in Kuwait, studied in Kuwaiti schools, and excelled in media activities and rhetoric from that day. It was not strange that he specialized in a subject in which he excelled and loved. He studied art criticism at the highest institutes in Cairo before heading to America to increase his knowledge and refine his talents and to emerge quickly in his field.

He and other pioneers made the journey of establishing the Kuwait TV, which in their hands was a source of pride for us as a country and citizens, a day when we were distinguished by everything, in the atmosphere of freedom that we enjoyed, when Kuwait was a beacon and a shining light on many countries, and Kuwait TV programs, the plays are followed in all the Gulf countries, and even the coastal cities of Iran and Iraq.

Abu Tariq’s journey on television began as responsible for executing and coordinating programs, then director and preparer, before becoming in the mid-sixties a program monitor, then general manager, then assistant undersecretary in the ministry until 1985, during which he was creative in presenting his distinguished talk shows, which sparked an uproar and controversy, and attracted many to watch the Kuwaiti channel, especially those related to checks prisoners, and programs criticizing wrong societal behavior, whose episodes were characterized by endearing and purposeful humor.

After retiring from the Ministry of Information, he worked as general manager of the Touristic Enterprises Company before going into self-employment, before being chosen as Minister of Information in the 2006 government headed by Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah.

During his long professional, practical and artistic career, he held many positions and tasks, including: Member of the College of Arts Council, President of the Arab International Film Production Company, Bahrain, President of HIT Films Houston, America, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wafra Company for Touristic Projects, Cairo, and Member of the Supreme Council for Planning, in addition being a member of dozens of governmental and private committees, a consultant to several parties inside and outside Kuwait, and a member and head of various technical and cultural arbitration committees.

He also had an executive, financial, and even political role, prominent in the production of the big film Al-Risala “The Message”, in its Arabic and English versions, in 1976.

The great friend, Mohammad Nasser Al-Sanousi, is approaching his eighty-fifth year, and he went through difficult family and health conditions that only increased in strength and solidity, thanks to the support of his life partner, Umm Tariq, who throughout their beautiful journey in life, they were always an example of generosity, humanity and love for the others despite the many little things that some still cling to.

A man like Abu Tariq deserves exceptional honor from the state, in its new era, for he gave his country a lot.

“He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at me.”
