LOS ANGELES, Jan 27, (Agencies): The confirmed cause of Tyler Christopher’s sudden death in October 2023 sheds light on the tragic incident involving the General Hospital alum. The Medical Examiner’s Office report identifies positional asphyxia due to acute alcohol intoxication as the primary cause of death. Additionally, coronary artery atherosclerosis, a condition characterized by arterial plaque buildup, is listed as a contributing factor.

According to the medical examiner, Christopher’s demise resulted from suffocation due to his intoxicated state and the position he was in, ultimately ruling the death as accidental.

The news of the actor’s passing was initially shared by his former co-star, Maurice Benard, through an Instagram post. Accompanied by two photos of the late actor, Benard’s heartfelt caption announced the loss and paid tribute to his friend. The post also disclosed that Christopher, who passed away at the age of 50 on Oct 31, experienced a cardiac arrest in his San Diego apartment.

Benard’s tribute highlighted Christopher’s remarkable talent, emphasizing how he illuminated the screen in every performance and brought joy to his devoted fans through his acting.
