Al-Qurain Club clinches squash title

KUWAIT CITY, April 8: The League Squash Excellence Cup was claimed by Al-Qurain Club, securing 46 points at the culmination of the 2023/2024 sports season. The season concluded last Sunday with the 16th Kuwait Championship, held at the courts of the Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah International Complex in South Surra. Khaitan secured second place in the Excellence Cup, earning 34 points, while Yarmouk secured third place with 17 points.

Following the Kuwait Championship matches, the players were awarded the Cup of Excellence and colorful medals by several dignitaries, including Federation President Walid Al-Sumaie, Al-Qurain Club President Abdul Karim Al-Shahoumi, Federation Vice President Khaled Al-Habib, Secretary General Hamed Al-Omran, Board Members Adel Al-Gharib and Ahmed Al-Adwani, and Women’s Committee member Asmaa Ashour.

Al-Qurain’s standout player, Badr Al-Maghribi, clinched first place in the general age championship, triumphing in the final match against Al-Nasr player Mohammed Adel Al-Masoud with a score of 1/3. Al-Qurain’s Saif Heikal secured third place. In the women’s category, Al-Arabi’s Basmala Al-Shami claimed first place, followed by Al-Qurain’s Aisha Al-Mizan in second place, and Kuwaiti player Sarah Al-Ali in third place
